Toronto’s Five Latest Luxury Hotels and Residences

Toronto has experienced a real estate renaissance if you haven’t notice the massive construction when you look on all direction downtown but much have been written about the rise of  Toronto’s luxury hotels. Over 10oo luxury hotel rooms including the Four Seasons Toronto and Shangri-la Toronto opening this summer is great news for the city a much-needed face lift which in the past have long suffered from a lack of luxury offerings in this sector.  This will attract new business to the city that will offer a different experience compared to a traditional hotel. I will outline the city’s newest five current and soon to open luxury hotels.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

Four Seasons Hotels and Resort is opening its second location this fall  at 60 Yorkville Avenue will be a soaring complex two sleek glass towers. The Four Season Toronto, a 55 storey hotel will have 259 guest rooms including 42 suites equipped with iPad, plus an additional 210 residences. Four Seasons Toronto amenities will include Daniel Boulud restaurant, Cafe Boulud, a second Buca Toronto restaurant  from executive chef Rob Gentile which is still in the pipeline and a 30000 sq.ft spa (the largest luxury spa in Toronto) that is open to the residents.  that  Prices for rooms are upwards of the $500. Hotel guest can take advantage of their 24-hour business centre, secretarial service and the hotel also provides children’s amenities, including babysitting services. Room rates starts at $500.

Shangri-La Toronto

Shangri-La Toronto, located at the corner of University Avenue and Richmond – still under construction the 66-storey tower will be opening this August 7th at exactly 1:30 pm. Being the second Shangri-la Hotels and Resort in North America (Shangri-la Vancouver the first) the hotel will have 222 hotel rooms, 287 residences, and 83 private estates (including 2 penthouses), acclaimed New York chef David Chang opening of his restaurant Momofuku, a dramatic multi-storey sculpture by internationally renowned artist Zhang Huan and amenities like valet service, top-of-the-line gym, state of the art theatre and a gated parking stall will be offered.

Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto opened officially this April 16 at 325 Bay St at the Financial District. Part of the Trump hotel Collection’s first Canadian property, this 65-storey building has 261 luxury guest rooms and 118 condominium residences.  On-site amenities include the Quartz Crystal Spa a 15000 square foot bi-level spa, the SUITS Lobby Lounge on the main floor and STOCK Restaurant.  www.trumptorontohotel.com

The Ritz Carlton Toronto

Toronto's Five Latest Luxury Hotels

Located at 181 Wellington West, the Ritz Carlton Toronto having been in operation since February 2011 with a distinctly Canadian vibe and presence. The hotel includes 261 hotel rooms and 159 residences, TOCA by Tom Brodi restaurant with a glass cheese cave serves 250 varieties of cheese, DEQ lounge, and a 23000 sq.ft of spa and wellness.  Room rates varies at $450.

Thompson Toronto

Toronto's Five Latest Luxury Hotels

New York city based boutique hotel chain, the Thompson Toronto is the first among the luxury hotel craze it opened June 2010 located at 550 Wellington West. The hotel includes 102 guest rooms and 336 residences, three restaurants and bars including Scarpetta Scott Conant, world-renowned rooftop pool and bar that is open exclusively to hotel guests and members. Average room rate is $275
