Dapper + Gent : Afternoon Tea in Toronto’s Hotel

A good friend of mine whom was visiting from England asked me one time to suggest the perfect afternoon tea or high tea to spend the afternoon catching up. Bit of sophistication and indulgent of treating yourself to afternoon tea, the classic British tradition is surely one of the best way to spend an afternoon with your best friends or love ones to gossip and an excuse to dress up. Here are some of my favourite afternoon tea spots in Toronto – you tea connoisseur. Pinkies up!

Windsor Arms Hotel

You always remember your first, and this was my first tea experience and I’ve always come back to the Windsor Arm‘s Tea Room, consistently known as one of Toronto’s best Afternoon tea rooms or High tea since 1927 for its impeccable service, excellent food offering and elegant decor. The hotel is located off Bloor St. just steps away from trendy Yorkville, popular amongst local as it is to visiting guest of the Windsor Arms  for its luxury amenities, restaurants and you’ll know why its rated the #1 hotel in Toronto by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.  Afternoon tea is served from in the Tea Room with a flute of sparkling wine and wide selection of traditional and exotic teas poured from pretty flowered pots.  Asparagus and smoked salmon sandwich roulades, salmon caviar, petit fours, scones, tarts, fresh fruit and might I say Toronto’s best scones complete with Devonshire and jams on the side are some of my favourite food offerings. With a large tea selection with an exceptional variety of flavours and tea styles, you can choose from the basic menu from $35, add a glass of Prosecco for $41, a martini for $48 or a glass of champagne for $52. Some of my favourite were the apple & cheddar cheese, plain and raisin scones and the lemon curd was a delight and perfect pairing with your tea. Be sure to save room for dessert and chocolate torte.   from traditional or Numi flowering teas (hand-sewn delicate tea leaves that bloom like a flower while they steep in hot water).
