Soho House, which has always operated pop-up spots during Toronto International Film Festival over the last three years with its star-studded parties will have a permanent location for the club the Soho House Toronto that will located at 192 Adelaide St. W. in the Bishop’s Block building, which dates back to the 19th century as one of Toronto’s first hotels. Nick Jones, founder and CEO of the chain of members-only luxury club will be launching this year instead of 2014 will be right next to the new Shangri-La Hotel Toronto, so that members can access the hotel’s screening room, fitness centre, pool, spa, meeting rooms, ballrooms and valet parking too. Soho House plans to install a rooftop bar, a library, a house kitchen and pantry bar and a main lounge area named the Pretzel Bell Bar Lounge (after the tavern that originally occupied the space, according to BlogTO). No hotel rooms though. Soho House memberships are pretty similar with local memberships ranges from $1800 and $900 for those under 27 years of age, while memberships to every house run at $2400 and $1200.
Also right next door to Shangri-La, of course is David Chang‘s Momofuku’s Toronto outpost which should be opening this August. this August. It may be months away, but it looks like there’ll be a new ground zero for celeb gawking at TIFF 2012. Soho House plans on setting up in Barcelona,Chicago, Istanbul and Mumbai by the end of 2014.
