I’ve driven passed Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites in many occasions and remember staying here many years ago and was excited to learn that they have been busy undergoing a $4-million transformation to re-brand the 353-room hotel as “the city’s first urban resort”. Having been in operation since 1968, the hotel has been a Holiday Inn, Radisson and Crowne Plaze. Allied Hotel Properties who owns the hotel have joined in partnership with Atira Hotels of Chicago that will see a facelift transformation of this iconic building. I was more excited to learn that their food service operation will be updated by non other than Food Network Canada superstar Anthony Sedlak of The Main which is one of my favorite food network show. Curious to question if this would be a great opportunity for Anthony Sedlak to bring an outpost of his popular eatery American Cheesesteak Co. to Toronto. A close source of mine have mentioned that renovations are well underway and should be completed mid-summer 2012 and of course a grand opening to showcase the hotel’s transformation this coming September.
