Ritz-Carlton Montreal reopens after $200 Million transformation


Following an extensive $200 million transformation, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal re-opened its doors May 28,2012 re-establishing itself as one of the top luxury hotel that have welcomed some of the world’s head of state, celebrities and royalty including the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill, Pierre Elliott Trudeau,as well as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary at the hotel. The buildings façade was preserved and restored, as were the lobby and the famous hotel garden. The hotel has 98 rooms and 31 suites were redesigned to showcase modern luxury and comfort but preserving the charm of the past and its rich history feature high-tech amenity such as thermostats that intuitively remembers guests temperature upon check-in, the eco-friendly sensor lighting system, salt water swimming pool, and a herb garden terrace which will provide fresh produce to the hotel’s restaurant. A welcoming new addition to the hotel re-opening is the distinguished Maison Boulud restaurant by acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud, a 130-seat dining room and a Tiffany & Co’s jewellery boutique. The Ritz-Carlton Montreal also features 45 new Ritz-Carlton Residences representing residential luxury with owners can take advantage of the hotels amenities including concierge service, fine dining,fitness centre and spa access. A deluxe room starts at $425.
