Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2013 Men’s Lookbook

Sarah Burton, the Alexander McQueen designer was the creative director behind the men’s and women’s 2013 collection which successfully does a truly excellent job of updating and refining the Alexander McQueen look while staying true to the creativity and paying a homage to the original designer. With the tragic passing of the label’s founder in February of last year, the new Alexander McQueen collection have in favour of a more mature refined look instead of the over-the-top-look with an inspiration for the collection back to the late McQueen’s early training on Savile that is at the heart of the house of Alexander McQueen.  The collection moves from bright all white summer suits through black leather trenches, Burton presents single and double-breasted style suits a personal favourite of mine being the black suit jacket covered in gold dragonflies detailing with graphic prints present throughout the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The new Alexander McQueen collection have certainly generated a lot of buzz in Milan this week – whether you’re a long-time fans of the McQueen brand it’s certainly is a new day that will garner and open up their niche appeal to a wider audiences.
