Brad Pitt is set to become the first male face of CHANEL No.5 a role previously filled by Hollywood luminaries as Marilyn Monroe and Nicole Kidman. The actor pulled a serious sum to be the first male face of the new fragrance since its introduction 91 years ago. Press reports have said that Pitt is being paid seven million dollars for his efforts. No. 5 was created in 1921 by French perfumer Ernest Beaux, under the direction of Coco Chanel, who wanted a fragrance to complement her clothes.
Chanel sees the ad campaign as a new direction, saying that the perfume “has to go where we are not expected”.The eight second clip should be enough to entice the pantaloons of ladies worldwide, as each mini-video features the father-of-six, Mr. Brad Jolie. Directed by Joe Wright (“Atonement,” “Anna Karenina”) shot the full commercial, which premieres on October 15.The luxury brand has released a selection of campaign teaser videos (you can see one below) for the advertising campaign, due to hit the glossies in full this November.
