No-frills-chic ALT Hotel brings their brand to the nation’s capital


With the newly opened Alt Hotel Toronto Pearson, Groupe Germain Hospitalite gives us more information for their latest hotel expansion to bringing their ALT Hotel brand to downtown Ottawa known to offer leisure and business travelers an ALTernative to its traditional limited service hotel accommodations. No-frills-chic concept, modern design and eco-friendly features at the same affordable rate available every day for the whole year which the ALT Hotels known for and also guest will also be able to enjoy ALT Hotel “basic luxuries” such as complimentary WiFi, ultra comfortable beds and helpful versatile staff.

“Our research shows that there is a real need for quality, well-designed and affordable accommodations and meeting space here in Ottawa,” said Jean-Yves Germain, Co-Founder and Co-President of Groupe Germain Hospitalité. “We’re thrilled to be continuing our national expansion while fulfilling that need with our ALTernative brand of hospitality.”

Designed by LEMAY MICHAUD and Richard Chmiel Architects, the modern 12-floor, 148-room ALT Hotel Ottawa will open in 2014 as part of a mixed-used complex planned by developer Broccolini Construction Inc. for Slater Street between Bank and O’Connor with construction will begin in early spring 2013.

Built near major highways, airports or in urban centres, ALT Hotels can be found in Québec City, in Montréal’s Quartier Dix30 and at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Groupe Germain Hospitalité plans to operate ten ALT Hotels across Canada by the end of 2016 and is currently building three new properties at Halifax’s Stanfield International Airport, in Montreal’s District Griffin and in Winnipeg’s Sports Hospitality and Entertainment District (SHED). Construction of ALT Hotel Ottawa will begin in early spring 2013.
